Boat Or Sculpture? On Board The Spirit 111

The inspiration for the styling below deck was the Antelope Canyon, parts of which are also reminiscent of the curved sculptures by the sculptor Richard Serra. On the other hand, it can hardly be deduced from the interior that one is inside a boat. Because of the long overhangs, hardly more than half of it is used for living.

Not only the elaborate and eye-catching interior was made of wood: The 34-meter-long Spirit 111 was made from planks that were glued over with diagonally laid veneer strips. Other special features: The drive is electric with a Torqeedo motor that is fed from BMW batteries. Generators and recuperation using propellers ensure the generation of energy.
