Entry restrictions everywhere, mask requirements, a number of canceled regatta classics, disused charter fleets and a noticeably increasing poverty in the local population - these are the unpleasant sides that the corona pandemic has brought to the Caribbean island states.
On the other hand, those crews who nevertheless sailed there suddenly found empty anchor bays, lonely dream beaches or, quite banally, attentive waiters in the restaurants as well as many other things that have long been a thing of the past on many of the islands in front of and behind the wind seemed.
Andreas Lindlahr is one of the few German sailors who dared to leap across the pond last autumn and wanted to spend a few wonderful months of sailing in the Caribbean.
