In January 2020, at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf, the yacht builders from Forli presented their latest project on the Italian Adriatic coast. The announcement of Matteo Polli as the responsible designer caused a big surprise. The Italian is currently considered a luminary for ORC-optimized constructions and has a considerable track record. His designs for the ItaliYachts brand (Itali9.98 and 11.98) have won no fewer than three world championship titles in the past few years. Now, for the first time, Polli is also drawing for Cantiere del Pardo. As a result of this collaboration, hull number 1 of the new Grand Soleil 44 Performance has now left the shipyard and successfully completed tests under sail. The first photos of the boat and its stylish interior are now available and can be viewed in the following picture gallery.

YACHT online presented the Grand Soleil 44 performance shortly after its presentation in Düsseldorf (here is the link to the report). The most important things in a nutshell: The most obvious design feature is now the round stern with the strongly drawn-in waterline. The design language is typical of Matteo Polli's fast constructions. The ship will be offered in two versions. The moderate standard version shows itself as a chic Gran Turismo with a more travel-oriented cockpit layout, with which even small crews or lone sailors should get along well. The ship is equipped with an aluminum mast and self-tacking jib. The regatta-compatible version 44 Race is intended for sporty sailors. She comes from the shipyard with an even higher rig made of carbon fiber and an overlapping genoa. The first boat (see gallery above) corresponds to the Race version.

The interior fittings, designed by NautYacht Design, are identical in both versions. The ship is only available with a conventional three-cabin layout with a separate shower cabin; no variants are provided. The basic price ex shipyard is currently 379,600 euros gross, as announced at the Düsseldorf trade fair in January. However, the sails are not yet included in the basic price.
