Plan drawing of the Elan GT6
Even at the first presentation of the smaller sister GT5 (test in YACHT 8/2017), the yacht builders from the hinterland of Slovenia were thinking out loud about expanding their new premium program GT (Gran Turismo) with a larger boat. Now hull number 1 of the new flagship GT6 is ready and sailing. And how it does it: In the exclusive test in Slovenia with moderate wind conditions, the voluminous tourer sometimes shines with very good and agile sailing characteristics. And handling is easy, even for a small crew, thanks to the well-planned cockpit layout.
The features of the new GT line: modern and voluminous hulls, luxurious interior fittings, sporty basic orientation, upscale deck equipment. For the visual design of their new 47-footer, the shipyard has entered into a cooperation with the stylists in Studio F. A. Porsche. Their handwriting is clearly recognizable in various areas on and below deck. Of course, the construction comes from the Humphreys Yacht Design office in England.
The detailed test report on the Elan GT6 is available for reading in YACHT, issue no. 21/2020. The booklet is available in the DK shop, can be ordered digitally here, or you can download the test directly from the link below
