The opening of the first autumn boat show, which was not canceled, was eagerly awaited. On Saturday the time had come - and after the first weekend, the organizers of Interboot in Friedrichshafen now draw a positive first balance.
“It was a really good weekend,” said Dirk Kreidenweiß, Interboot project manager, happily. “There is a good atmosphere among the exhibitors, almost like in a tight-knit community. And above all: We see that it works, even if everything is new territory. This is a basis on which we and the exhibitors can build in the coming days."
This is confirmed, among others, by Dennis Hennevanger, owner of Saffier Yachts:
“We are very satisfied with the first two days of the fair. All in all, it was a good start to the Interboot."
With around 12500 visitors on the first two days of the fair, the number was lower than in previous years, but they were prepared for that. This year tickets can only be bought online, there is no box office on site.

The “new normal at Interboot”, according to Kreidenweiß, also includes the obligation to wear a mask in the exhibition halls. It can be removed on the open-air site and when attending lectures, as well as in counseling sessions, provided that the distance between them is maintained.
There is a registration requirement for everyone who enters the exhibition center. “From the bread roll supplier to the exhibitor, we know who is here,” explains Dirk Kreidenweiß. “We also provided hectoliters of disinfectant.” Walkways were widened and the exchange of air in the exhibition halls improved. The visitors would heed the new rules.
The great tension has now subsided for the time being, reports the trade fair organizer. It was not only enormous because it was unclear how the trade fair would run with all the corona requirements and how the visitors would receive it. But also because both the trade fair landscape and the authorities are keenly watching what is happening on Lake Constance, which will last until next Sunday.
From September 19 to 27, 2020, the Interboot will offer numerous lectures, seminars and workshops. There are also practical tips during trailer training in the west outdoor area.
