On Friday, March 13th, the clubhouse of the Altona-Oevelgönne Sailing Association will be open to visitors to the 3rd "Hamburg Restoration Talks" from 5.30pm, to which the Friends of Classic Yachts invite all interested parties - including non-members.

Lacquer and its processing

The program starts at 6 p.m. What the visitors can expect is described in detail by the organizers in advance: It starts with an owner who reports on paintwork winter work on his classic West Channel Class, Morgan Giles, built in 1952. This is followed by short lectures by Christian Woitkus, the master painter and varnisher and owner of the almost 140-year-old Hamburg specialist dealer Waage Farben, and boat builder Matthias Glimm from Toplicht. You will be informed about the basics, proven solutions, innovation in painting and practical tips for use and proven solutions, regardless of the manufacturer report on UV protection. Other experts have announced their participation.

Part 2 includes the detailed personal exchange of experiences between the participants as a round-table discussion. The aim of the format is to share proven solutions, clarify questions, discuss current challenges on your own ship and personally exchange relevant practical topics - in order to preserve the classics in the best possible way.

After the "official part" around 9 pm there is the possibility of an individual conversation; Snacks and drinks are available as usual.

The event is aimed primarily at classic owners and skilled craftsmen who are regularly involved in maintenance and winter work, who have carried out or are planning restorations and want to deal with the matter in more detail.
