LaurDekker's experiences now also as a book
LaurDekker has a very special relationship with the sea: She was born on a sailing trip around the world and grew up on a twelve-meter-long sailing yacht for the first few years of her life. The sea plays a very special role in her life, so it is hardly surprising that she was drawn to the oceans of the world again: at the age of 14, she decided to sail around the world - all alone, completely on her own.
But it was as simple as originally intended for Laurnicht: How can a 14-year-old school-age girl sail around the world on her own? Laura's plan not only attracts a lot of media attention, but also the youth welfare office got involved and pulled the father into a court case. Laur sees only one way out and secretly goes to Sint Maarten via France to start her journey.
In "A Girl, a Dream - Solo Around the World" Laurin Tagebuchform tells of her circumnavigation from Portugal via Gran Canaria, Galápagos, Tahiti, Tong and South Africa to Cape Town – Sint Maarten. Your experiences on board are now available as a book for the first time.
