Sketch of the Oceanis 40.1
The important twelve-meter ship is aimed at both owners and the charter market and is particularly versatile in terms of its concept. The new from Beneteau is available in expansion variants from two to four double cabins and optionally one or two toilet rooms. This enables the French woman to set new standards in the 40-foot class when it comes to housing below deck. When it comes to the equipment on deck, the customer is offered a rare variety with different mast heights, self-tacking jib or overlapping genoa, conventional rigging or in-mast furling.
And under sail, the Oceanis 40.1 also cuts a fine figure in the YACHT test. In ideal conditions of 12 to 15 knots of wind, the test boat delivers a convincing performance with its simple standard sails. And for handling on deck, we like the simple, but functional and also largely one-handed layout.
The detailed test report on the Oceanis 40.1 is now available for reading in YACHT, issue no. 17/2020. The booklet is available in the DK shop, digitally here, or you can download the test from the link below
