Outing with trainees: In good times, the "Norden" was often out on the Atlantic
The type designation already promises speed: Norske Jagt is the umbrella term for fast and agile ships from Norway. Hunting was used in a variety of ways: as cargo ships, by authorities or pilots, for fishing or for seal hunting. In 1870 the "Norden" was built in Skånevig from native pine and is one of the four Norske Jagten that are still in service outside of Norway.
The owner Peter Fleck has been sailing the "Norden" for over 30 years. The professional seaman sees himself no longer in a position to maintain the Norske Jagt for commercial use because of the ship safety regulations for traditional ships and wants to sell it - preferably to Norway.
