Heaters that burn diesel and thereby generate hot air that is distributed throughout the ship are ideal on board. In most cases, the energy source is already there, and the heating also works independently of shore power, i.e. when you are out and about. On top of that, diesel heaters are quite cheap, space-saving and few defects.

Many parts: The system has to be individually adapted to the on-board conditions
The YACHT compared six devices. The established manufacturers Webasto, Wallas and Eberspächer are there as well as Autoterm (formerly Planar) from Russia, Brano from the Czech Republic and an unnamed product from China. The price ranges from 159 euros to almost 2000 euros.
The devices had to be measured, among other things, in the disciplines of scope of delivery, assembly, part quality, volume, heating output and electricity and diesel consumption.
