The echoes determined by pulse or pulse compression are displayed on the electronic nautical chart in the plotter and are therefore easy to identify. On top of that, the owner saves an additional screen and thus costs such as installation space. The antennas cost between almost 2000 and up to 3300 euros, weigh between 5.5 and 7.7 kilograms and measure around 50 centimeters.

Raymarine radar antenna: data flow via WiFi if required
The range of functions is large: bearing lines and distance rings, target tracking, motion detection, echo traces, interval operation, multi-display, dual range, sector blanking, alarm zones and automatic adjustment are desirable functions, although not all devices offer everything. There are also major differences in the range, display, operation and data transmission.
We tested the radar antennas from Furuni, Garmin, Navico (Simrad / B & G) and Raymarine.
