Sailors who go on tour in the darker months of the year only have a relatively short time window with daylight available. It happens quickly that with longer strikes they only arrive in the harbor in the dark and have to look for a free box under difficult conditions or find an unlit barrel in a fairway. A good lamp then provides a better overview of where piles, buoys and barrels are lurking and where there is a free berth for the night. Perhaps the classic hand lamp with a light bulb and cable with a 12-volt plug is also on board. However, an LED lamp is much more flexible and easier to use.

Experimental setup on the jetty
The prerequisites for the selection of the lamp models in this test were: LED technology, water-protected or better-proof housing and a price of around 100 euros, at least not much more. This resulted in seven participants.
