In a certain way, this cannot be prevented, a modern charter yacht is a technically complex structure that is subject to heavy wear and tear from often thoughtless customers. The price pressure in the competition between shipyards also often means that technically inexpensive solutions are built in, which may outlast the guarantee period with careful owner use, and which are not able to cope with the tough everyday charter with 20 to 30 charter weeks per year for long.
The YACHT editorial team keeps hearing of such cases that annoyed customers report later when they argue with the fleet operator about compensation. A difficult undertaking in which the customer is often in the weaker position.
