The inland port of Glückstadt, regardless of the tide
Between the mudflats and the metropolis - sailing on the Elbe
In the 20/2020 issue of YACHT, we present an area on our doorstep that is underestimated and yet beautiful: Along the Lower Elbe with Altes Land and marshes, half-timbered villages, big city flair and numerous tributaries, there is so much to see that the area from the North Sea to Hamburg is easily enough for a sailing holiday.
Which corners are particularly worthwhile to visit is revealed as well as tips on currents and tides and on dealing with commercial shipping on the Elbe. Also: what sport boaters on the most important tributaries - Oste, Stör, Krückau, Pinnau and Schwinge - have to consider.
