The shipyard from Erftstadt offers a wide portfolio of inland and coastal cruisers with sailboats from 17 to 24 feet, in one-foot graduation. The new Sailart 18 replaces a design of the same size from 1993 and, in contrast to its predecessor, is intended to perform particularly on regattas.

Visually, it already fulfills this promise: The strongly negatively inclined wavepiercer bow with fixed gennaker nose and extreme Chinese are borrowed from fast contemporary designs and give the small cruiser a very sporty appearance. Whether the Sailart 18 is really sailing as fast as it looks can only be guessed at, however, because it was only finished three days before the start of the trade fair. Once she was in the water at least to check her swimming position, but she has not yet sailed.

Due to the characteristic Chinese, the relatively large boat width to the waterline is greatly reduced. This should ensure agile and fast sailing when there is little wind, but also ensure high dimensional stability when the breeze is stronger (when the kink is immersed in position). The calculation of shipyard manager Frank Störck is that the Sailart 18 has a higher speed potential in little wind than the Seascape 18. In stronger winds, however, not much weight should be necessary on the edge in order to keep the boat under control on the cross. The ideal crew are two people.
The ready-to-sail boat costs 20,900 euros. Gennaker, laminate sails, carbon fiber boom and drive are all to be paid for separately.
