The addition of Grand’Large to the name for Dufour's series of trips is off the table for now. Much has changed since the French brand became part of the Fountaine Pajot group: new management, new logo, fresh design for the boats and a lot of improvement work in detail. This was confirmed in January at the world premiere of the Dufour 530 at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf, where Dufour presented an extremely exciting, modern and attractive tour concept with a new look.
And now the line expansion follows in the same direction downwards. The next boat will be the Dufour 470, which will also be presented as a world first at the leading trade fair in Düsseldorf, next year in January. Instead of the Dufour 460 Grand’Large (YACHT test 23/2015) it is part of the range of yacht builders in LRochelle. The hull of the new ship is, however, a little longer than that of the predecessor and, accordingly, a little wider. Dufour's in-house designer Umberto Felci has taken over the hull shapes of its bigger sister 530, including the comparatively wide stern and the distinctive recess in the freeboard for the deeper installation of the hull windows.
The Dufour 470 will be available in three versions. The basic version Easy is aimed at owners with little need for proven sportiness and is therefore also suitable for the charter market. The version under the name Ocean is ideal for more demanding owners. In this version, more options are possible, for example a large sun lounger aft in the cockpit or an additional outdoor grill station. The Performance version should make sailors happy who want to sail actively and want more sportiness. The ship comes with a higher and more powerful rig, better sails and extensive deck equipment suitable for regattas.
There are also numerous expansion options for expansion below deck. The following picture gallery shows the feasibility with the corresponding layouts. The basic price for the simple standard version ex shipyard is given as a gross price of 265,400 euros at the time of market launch. The Ocean version with the changed sheet guides will be around 7,000 euros more expensive, without the additional options. For the ship in the performance version, buyers have to calculate additional costs of around 61,000 euros.
