The crowdfunding campaign for the second part of the Atlantic voyage
A documentary on the first section of Johannes Erdmann and Cati Trapp's (now Cati Erdmann) two-year blue water journey was broadcast by ZDF in April 2015, followed by a few repetitions. The idea was that the film would become the pilot of a series about the couple's journey. But the ZDF decided against the continuation. After the disappointing cancellation of the channel, the sailors nonetheless diligently kept a video diary - they brought gigabytes of video material with them from their Atlantic tour.

Now the young Erdmanns want to have their time-out produced on their own as a DVD. The impetus for this was provided by producer and director Arne Schröder, who had already implemented part one for ZDF and shortly before the return of "Maverick too" went back on board with a cameraman. That means: material there, team d - the financing of the DVD production is still missing. A good 20,000 euros are needed to implement the project. A crowdfunding campaign on the online platform Startnext.com is supposed to procure them - almost 9,000 euros have already been raised since it was launched on August 31.
In accordance with the principle of joint financing, every donor gets something back for his financial injection: for the minimum contribution of 15 euros there is a film poster, for 25 euros a DVD, for 50 euros a DVD and the name in the credits. Sponsorship packages are offered for sailing film fans or companies who want to contribute more, and the book for the trip is also announced as a thank you. If the financing target is not achieved, the money made available will be refunded. The campaign runs until October 24 at 11:59 p.m.
