Last June, the HelgCup proved that it has already found a permanent place in the calendar of many female sailors: a good 300 women sailed on three lanes on the Outer Alster in Hamburg in the regatta, which had only celebrated its premiere the year before.
There will be another track for the upcoming Cup, which will take place from June 11 to 14, 2020: In addition to the J / 70 regatta tracks, there will be an inclusion track. It is planned that there will be sailed on Far East SV 14, a mixture of fast dinghy and stable boat, which should also enable people with handicaps to safely start sailing.

The new patron of the HelgCup, the former track cyclist and two-time Olympic champion KristinVogel, will focus on the topic of inclusion in women's sailing. The 28-year-old athlete has been paraplegic since a training accident in June 2018 and is sitting in a wheelchair. Vogel recently received the Sport-BILD “Hero of the Year” award, wants to learn to sail and to compete in the HelgCup 2020 herself. Sven Jürgensen, initiator of the HelgCup, is thrilled to have won a strong woman as patron: "I can't imagine a better, more authentic person than KristinVogel. She is a sports ambassador and an incredibly strong role model and fits in like no other our project, "says a happy Jürgensen
KristinVogel embodies the same positive energy that the HelgCup also spreads. She wants to be there as an encouragement and impulse giver, as a role model to motivate, to keep fighting and to stand for a world "in which everyone not only thinks of himself, but is also willing to look to the left or right and to the people next to him pay attention, "said Vogel.
The third HelgCup 2020 will take place from June 11th to 14th, 2020 on the Hamburg Outer Alster. The organizer is the North German Regatt Association.
