The entry list for the HelgCup 2019 is limited and for the most part already full. However, some teams still have the chance to get a starting place through various campaigns until shortly before the event. At boot Düsseldorf there is now the opportunity to win two wild cards for the world's largest women's regatt, which celebrated its successful premiere on the Hamburg Outer Alster in 2018.
As a reminder of an extraordinary regatta weekend among female sailors - the beginning of a success story
Two crews can now qualify for the J / 70 keelboat regatta from June 13 to 16, 2018 by sending us an application video: Short, crisp, and with the answer to the question why they absolutely want to be there - and should.
There are only a few formal criteria:
1. The video must be submitted in a common video format (MPEG, AVI) and should not be longer than five minutes.
2. Crews who want to take part in the video competition send an email with their contact details to [email protected] We will then send you an upload link for the video.
3. The video must be uploaded to the link sent by Sunday, January 20th at 8:00 pm.
Important criteria are originality, an authentic crew and - quite simply - having fun!
The two winning teams will be announced at boot in Düsseldorf as part of the "HelgCup / J / 70 KV evening". When and where? Friday, January 25th from 5 p.m. at the stand of J / Boats and Mittelmann’s shipyard in Hall 15, Stand B 21.
A jury under the direction of YACHT editor-in-chief Jochen Rieker will decide on the winners. The judges' decision is final. The participating crews agree that their video will be published in connection with the Helga Cup reporting.
Background to the HelgCup
The world's largest keelboat regatta for women is aimed at women's crews of very different levels: The performance spectrum of the first HelgCup 2018 ranged from cruising sailors to "Tutima" crews to DSV cadre sailors. J / 70 is being sailed by the organizer.
Success model: The idea of the women's regatt was well received, over 60 teams started at the premiere
In addition to the sporting events on the water, the HelgCup was shaped by a lively exchange between the crews from all over Germany, Austria and the USA, which began months in advance, e.g. with joint regatta workshops and training sessions.
Tax women’s meeting 2018
From June 13 to 16, 2019 (qualified crews will sail from June 14), the HelgCup will be hosted by the North German RegattVerein (NRV) on the Hamburg Outer Alster. Sailing is again in four-person crews on keelboats, in short races, similar to the German national league format.
