The selection wasn't quite as large as in previous years. But it was still not easy. Instead of the usual 60 to 70 novelties of the current year, this time the task was to filter out the most promising and most attractive boats from around 50 potential candidates.
The selection took one day, for which the jury members of the participating sailing magazines from twelve European countries met this time at the YACHT editorial office in Hamburg. Now they are fixed!
The following yachts will take part in the tests off Port Ginestan on the Catalan coast - the venue for the final practical trials in the two previous years:
Category cruising boats

Nominated in the cruising boat category: Oceanis 30.1 by Beneteau
- Oceanis 1/30
- Impression 45.1
- Sun Odyssey 410 in the swing keel version
Luxury yacht category

Candidate for the boat building Oscar in the luxury yacht group: Oyster 565
- Amel 60

*) Unfortunately, for logistical reasons, the Bente cannot be made available for the tests, which is why it will not be considered this year. If necessary, it will be pre-selected again for the best choice in 2021, provided that it is not displaced by more current and similarly attractive newcomers.
