The first announcement by the Slovenes is still very sparse. The new, luxurious blue-water cruiser should be exclusive and stylish and be created in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design, the F. A. Porsche design office and the shipyard's own development department. The boat is intended to redefine the concept of the contemporary performance cruising yacht.
The construction of the new GT6 ends at the mast
The drawings show a modern boat with a short but high superstructure, T-keel, double rudder blades, chines, a wide stern, double wheels, long hull windows and cockpit coaming that do not extend to the aft end of the cockpit. For the GT5, Elan used existing molds from the conventional performance cruiser series and converted them. The interior design with a raised saloon and pantry on the main bulkhead was completely new - a concept that will probably be carried over to the new GT6. The new GT6 is created using a vacuum infusion process.
Elan is currently building the sporty E line, the voluminous Impression series and the new upscale GT series. The shipyard intends to present further details on the new GT6 at boot Düsseldorf at the end of January.
