Shipyard owner Frank Störck remains true to himself and continues to rely on trailerable boats. The company from Erftstadt near Cologne, founded in 1993, currently has a finely graduated program: Sailart 17, 19, 20, 22 and 24; he now adds an 18-foot-long guy to this. The construction by Frank Störck and the microcupper expert ZdzislAbrozej is very modern: straight hull ends, chines, retracted freeboards in the foredeck and striking kinks in the superstructure and cockpit as well as the open cockpit characterize the new addition.

The boat will be available in various expansion variants, which enable it as a one-handed daysailer or a consistent racer for small crews. The performance cruiser is designed for one person on the hardware side, the optimal occupation is two people. In addition to the shape, the low weight of only 450 kilograms and the large sail area of 20 square meters on the wind stand for good sailing properties. This results in a sails load rating of 5.8, a very high value that identifies the Sailart 18 as a regatta boat. The cloakroom is complemented by a 25 square meter gennaker and a very lush 20 square meter Code Zero. Both are attached to the fixed GRP nose.
Due to the low weight, the width of only 2.30 meters and the variable draft, the Sailart 18 is easy to trailer and easy to slip even with a smaller car. The keel can be swiveled and if necessary reduces the draft from 1.30 to 0.25 meters. The fin disappears almost completely in the trunk. The keel box accordingly costs space in the ship, but with two berths and storage space, there is minimal overnight comfort. The boat is made in a sandwich construction with a Divinycell foam core. The boat is filled with unsinkable foam. In addition to the entire package, the price is also attractive: the little speedster costs 20,900 euros including VAT from Erftstadt. The world premiere will take place in January at boot Düsseldorf.
