
TO winner Henrik Masekowitz on arrival in Falmouth on his Akilari40 "Croix du Sud"
In the Hapag halls in Cuxhaven, the ocean sailing association Trans-Ocean presented its awards this year. The most important, the Trans-Ocean Prize, went to Henrik Masekowitz for his victory in the RegattAzores and back (AZAB) from Falmouth to the Azores island of São Miguel and back.
At the time of the award ceremony, however, the honoree was already at sea, trying to circumnavigate the world non-stop with the Akilari40 "Croix du Sud". The yacht had already carried him to victory in the now award-winning North Atlantic regatt. The skipper was Connected by satellite phone, he was standing abeam Madeira at the time, and his wife ChristinRohsius accepted the award.

• "Atair", Dr. Wolfram Treptow and MiOry, Mannheim Circumnavigation of the world from 2003 to 2015 (Wedel – Chaguaramas) on a 13.40 meter long Motiv39 S, 41,193 nautical miles
• "Mahuini", Ingo Baumann, Canaries Circumnavigation of the world from 2006 to 2015 (Kiel – Key West) on a Pahi 42, a 12.80 meter long self-made according to the Wharram plan, 49,707 nautical miles
• "Green Coral", Peter Sidler and Rosmarie Gaberthüel, Switzerland Circumnavigation of the world from 2005 to 2015 (Marmaris – Grenada) on an 11.80 meter ketch (still on the way), 50,214 nautical miles
• "Boomerang I and II", Klaus Uecker and JuanKunze, Berlin Circumnavigation of the world from 1995 to 2015 (Gran Canaria – Curaçao), initially on the first 11.89 meter long "Boomerang", from 2000 (this part of the trip was awarded) on the successor, a 16 meter long Amel. A total of over 60,000 nautical miles
• "Josi", Ingrid and Jürgen Mohns, Ammersbek Double circumnavigation of the world from 1992 to 2015 (Wedel – Wedel) * on a 14 meter long Motiv42. The sailing couple also received the Silver TO medal for the trip. 91,605 nautical miles

At the TO annual meeting, which preceded the festive evening with the honors, there was again a change in the management of the association. The press officer BarbarKampen resigned.
