The K3X will be the successor to the K3, which is particularly popular among single-handed sailors, since the boat was specially designed for this and is popular for sporty sailing, including regattas. The new 3 Series, like the last K4X, has been most noticeably modernized in terms of hull shape: The nose tips of the 16-foot hull are now designed negatively as a wave piercer and, in combination with the Chines and U-shaped frame, should bring more volume over the water. This means that the new models get through the waves better and are less prone to plugs. When the YACHT tested the K4X, this turned out to be a successful solution.

The new KX3
"While maintaining the well-known and popular simplicity of our swordless boats, we want to create a new performance class that offers the advanced single-handed sailor a real alternative at a very attractive price-performance ratio," explains Topcat managing director Pablo Walden. For the first time there will be no basic "Classic" variant. The slimmed-down "Streamcut" model with mainsail and headsail as well as an optional furling gennaker was created for sailing schools and boat rentals as well as hobby sailors who also want to go for two.

The new KX3
The rig is now a taller, narrower design with the sail area pulled down to the trampoline in the front area. There is no longer a jib for this, the gennaker is a bit larger than before. The beams moved slightly aft to optimize the center of gravity for fast travel.
The top version of the K3X costs 14,900 euros. The Kat will be on display for the first time at Boot in Düsseldorf; interested parties can find it in Hall 15, Stand number G 58.
