Sketch of the Hanse 418
The ship is based on the 415 with its tried-and-tested hull, but comes with various revisions. The L-keels are new, as is the deck with a larger cockpit, more stern cutout, different helmsman seats and a modified companionway area. The usable storage space has been redistributed, one of the rear chambers has been prioritized as the master cabin, new surfaces and woods are available to choose from. More windows and hatches create pleasant light situations and fresh views.
Overall, with the new launch, Hanse is focusing more on continuous product improvement than on major innovations such as Jeanneau or Beneteau. It will be an exciting year for the large-scale shipyards and their customers, the big five players are all working intensively on their core business, the cruising boat suitable for the masses in the price-sensitive market segment.
