Comparison of compact class
The class is particularly attractive and in demand - compact cruisers between 9.00 and 9.50 meters in length offer a perfect platform, especially for newcomers and passengers. The format is handy and manageable, the width is suitable for ports. The YACHT invited six representatives of the class to a group comparison in Neustadt on the Baltic Sea. Also included: the Dufour 310 from France, the Hallberg-Rassy 310 from Sweden, the Hanse 315 from Germany, the Marlow Hunter 31 from the USA, the Sirius 310 DS also from Germany and the Winner 9 from Holland. A very heterogeneous group, of course, which does not necessarily permit direct comparisons, but rather documents the feasibility of this ship size almost completely.
In the first part of the big comparison, the YACHT test crew mainly dealt with the sailing characteristics of the participants under different conditions. In addition to the services shown, it is particularly about the layouts on deck with all the advantages and disadvantages of handling during maneuvers, single-handed sailing and life in the harbor. In addition, comparative comments on the equipment on deck and the quality of the attachments. And of course the YACHT testers also looked at the maneuvering properties under the machine in the harbor.
