When the colorful cloth is up and standing, everything is fine - but the way there is sometimes annoying: Space wind sails bring a considerable increase in speed and sailing fun, but are error-prone to use. The area is large and, in contrast to the close-hauled sails, mostly free-flying. The internet is full of videos of gennakers wrapped around forestay or spreaders, stubborn egg timers, or sails set upside down.
In order to avoid such mishaps when seated, good preparation helps, an essential part of this is packing the large, colorful cloth. We at North Sails in Hamburg's Speicherstadt have shown us various methods.
