Parasailor and Spi fighting boat against boat
A full whistle hangs over the MarinRubicon, the wind measuring system announces 18 to 20 knots already in port. In mid-November, the northeast trade wind has Lanzarote firmly under control. The comparison of Parasailor, conventional spinnakers and gennakers should hardly fail due to lack of wind. On the contrary, the conditions promise challenging downwind sailing. Most dump trucks on the North and Baltic Seas would never even take the colorful cloth out of the bag in view of the rapid air movement.

The Parasailor can also be driven without a spinnaker pole
For our test, on the other hand, the powerful Passat seems optimal. After all, the downwind sail, which is slotted at the top, should still be manageable by a crew of two without any problems, even under such conditions - and what's more, in contrast to the spinnaker, the Parasailor should stand very quietly and ensure a quick and comfortable way to leeward. The manufacturer promises to also cover the angle of incidence of the wind of a gennaker and spis. In short: the egg-laying woolly milk pig.
In practice, a 140 square meter Parasailor should prove itself against a conventional spi of the same size and, for more forward wind angles, against a corresponding gennaker. Each on two identical First 40s.
