Anyone looking for nautical literature for the trip to the Baltic States has so far had a very limited number of area and port tours to choose from. The Estonia and Latvia Tourism Association has recognized this and launched the East Baltic Coast project. The aim is to offer sailors a close-knit network of ports with good infrastructure.

Aerial photographs, nautical chart excerpt and description. For Latvia, the port guide Sail Estoniand Latvi offers a good navigation aid
The area guide Sail Estoniand Latvi is part of this project funded by the European Union and contains general area information and port descriptions for more than 50 marinas and piers along the Gulf of Riga on Saaremabis up to the Russian border. The Latvian ports are presented with aerial photographs and sea map excerpts. There is also a description of the control with depth information as well as an overview of the existing infrastructure such as shore power, drinking water, showers, washing facilities and WiFi.

In the Estonian waters, the nautical chart excerpts are missing, but the port descriptions are a bit more detailed
In the Estonian part, the nautical map excerpts are missing, but there is a somewhat detailed description of the port situation and weather protection.
Sail Estoniand Latvik can be downloaded free of charge from the East-Baltic-Coast-Association website.
The website of the South Baltic Coast Association offers a similar service with the online port guide for the East German and Polish Baltic coasts, Klaiped and Bornholm.
