The southern German charter company is starting this season with a base on the island of Marindell Isola, a tiny peninsula in the bay of Marinella, a few kilometers southeast of Portisco. The island and its jetty are privately owned and reserved for visitors to a few holiday homes and Sun Charter customers; there are no other charter fleets there. Customers can use the beach next door or enjoy a sundowner at the bar. "It is a small, exclusive facility, and we are very pleased that we can welcome our customers there from this season on," said Sun Charter Managing Director Marc Rosendahl. In previous years, the company had a base in MarinPortisco, but was able to secure the exclusive deal for the small port on the private island for this season. During the week, the facility is also open to crews from other yachts; three to four meters of water at the jetties are also sufficient for larger yachts.

There are around 20 ships available, mainly Jeanneaus and Dufours from 33 to 57 feet, as well as a Kat (Luci40) from Fountaine Pajot. The new base is an ideal port of departure for trips through the island world on the northeast side of Sardinia with the Maddalena Archipelago and the French Lavezzi Islands. To the nearby Corsica with dream ports like Bonifacio it is also only a daily stroke. The area is popular because of its beautiful bays, great beaches and, thanks to nature reserves, lots of intact fauna and flora.

The journey takes place via the airport of Olbia, which is served directly by many German airports and also cheap airlines. The transfer only takes about 20 minutes. Information and bookings either via the Sun Charter website, by phone at 08171/29905 or by email at [email protected].
