Bowline on the tear testing machine
Cross accounts, single and double sheet pile, bowline or splice. There are various ways to connect two ropes. But not every connection is really durable. Are there any nodes that are particularly problematic and particularly suitable? To clarify these questions, we examined the most common knots for connecting two lines on a tear testing machine, with different types of rope. The loss of breaking load with Dyneema ropes is particularly frightening.

Cross accounts, the coat is already gone, the connection is about to fail
We also tested the breaking load of self-made rope shackles, these are significantly stronger than the pure Dyneema rope from which they were made. Depending on the version, there are also differences here.
Which knot works best in which rope and how robust rope shackles and splices are can be found in the current issue, from 2.3. at the kiosk.
