What to do when the towing convoy arrives at the safe harbor? There is little space here, the maneuvers have to work faster; on the other hand there is also no disturbing sea state.

The parallel tow is the most suitable method to provide very controlled help to another yacht. The tug can directly influence the movements of the person being towed. Therefore, you should change from towing with the hawser to the parallel tow near the port or in the outer port. The towed person can then be maneuvered directly to a berth instead of having to hope with the hawser thrown away that the remaining journey will be enough to reach the pier. Very good deflection between the boats is important when towing in parallel. Because of the risk of damage, it is hardly suitable in rough seas, especially with two sailing yachts there is a risk of the rigs colliding.
