The strength of the neighboring district in the west is without question its versatility. In the shortest possible space, less than ten nautical miles, you can sail from protected inland areas without changes in level, such as the Veerse Meer, into the initially regulated Oosterschelde or then into the open Westerschelde or the North Sea. In between there are beautiful old towns where there is always something going on in summer, e.g. during the shell days in Yerseke or in Veere.

The difficulty level of the area can be adjusted at any time. If it starts to blow violently from the west, the crews hide further inside; If it is lovely, you can dare to venture out onto the North Sea, possibly to gain your first tidal experience.

With super summers like 2018 and this year, the weather is no longer an exclusion criterion. Reason enough to explore Zeeland with your own ship or charter yacht.
