Not only German sailors like to spend the summer on the Baltic Sea, which has established itself as an attractive area for charter crews over the past 30 years. With around 1000 berths and almost 120 charter boats, Heiligenhafen is considered the stronghold for sailing pleasure on the German Baltic Sea coast.
YACHT editor Stefan Schorr asked around at the Heiligenhafen charter center and found out first hand what makes this location so special for summer trips with the chartered yacht. He also presents three very different routes for an unforgettable weekly trip on the Baltic Sea, which lead the sailor from Heiligenhafen west into the Danish South Sea, east into the Mecklenburg Bay and north through the navigationally demanding Småland fairway.
Read about the magic and sailing pitfalls of the individual routes, including useful tips on local charter companies, nautical charts and helpful navigation literature in the YACHT, issue 15/2019, available in the DK shop, or you can download the travel report directly from the link below
