Ambience after the race in the port of Valletta

A record number of 83 yachts from 19 nations took part in this year's Rolex Middle SeRace. For more than 606 nautical miles along the racetrack around Sicily, the participants should have to struggle, especially with weak winds; 62 participants finally reached the destination outside the Royal MaltYacht Club.

Just 25 minutes before the time limit expired, the last yacht crossed the finish line on the seventh day of the race, thus closing the list of results. The JOD 35 (Jeanneau One Design) "Dinah" literally moved to the top of the separately managed double-hand classification at the last moment.

German crews at the forefront

The six German crews who started the 33rd edition of the race across the Mediterranean positioned themselves across the list of results. The best German yacht was the Marten 49 "Speedy" by Hans-Jürgen Riegel, which landed in second place in the overall ranking according to IRC.

In eleventh place Jens Kellinghusen's new building "Varuna", KER 51, position 26 for Christopher Opielock's elderly Carter 55 "Kohinoor". In 58th place the Rogers 46 "Shakti" owned by the Avenarius / Gondesen community. The two remaining German crews, "Pogo 1" and "Lusitano", gave up the race.
