With a crew of 22, the only 29-year-old skipper Alex Thomson wants to successfully guide the new yacht around the rocks off the Irish coast. The ocean classic over 609 nautical miles starts on August 10th in Cowes (Isle of Wight).
300 participating yachts in various classes and groups are expected.
In particular, the attributes of versatility, endurance and absolute team effort have made the company decide to approach the sport of sailing. The yacht is in the BOSS colors: black sails with the BOSS label over a black hull.
In cooperation with Gore-Tex, HUGO BOSS has developed a complete set of technical sailing clothing especially for the Fastnet Race under the BOSS Green Label label. Selected parts of it will come onto the market in spring 2004.
