"We already have some reports from the tonners, but of course there can always be more of these great ships," says Frank Zaun, head of organization at the NRW Cup. They are also very satisfied with the other registrations, but "every single sailor is us very welcome".
Almost 80 boats have been registered in groups ORC 1 to 4, Yardstick, J-70 and Doublehanded. “Anyone who spontaneously feels like going to the NRW Cup can register until Wednesday. You can do that on the cup's website, said Zaun.
The up-and-down regattas take place on Thursday afternoons and Friday, and the long-distance races on Saturday. In the evening a band is waiting for the sailors. Sunday it's back home
The best crew on a ship that is more than 20 years old receives the Vintage Cup. According to the organizer, the NRW-Cup is characterized by its versatility. Family crews in the yardstick rating, one-size-fits-all, short or long haul and ORC sailing at a high level: everything is possible. Incidentally, the name is misleading: of course, anyone can take part - including sailors who are not from NRW.
