Finally completely silted up: the approach to the port of emergency on Darß
After a long break in January and February due to the unusually cold and stormy weather, the dredging in the Darßer Ort emergency port is making good progress again. "The breakthrough to the port was made at the beginning of this week," announced Volker Schlotmann.
The Minister of Transport from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania continues: "We are now working at full speed so that the rescue cruiser can be stationed in the port of emergency again in March. If the weather cooperates, the port of emergency can be called again in about three weeks."
After the dredging, the pier lights and leading lights would be switched on and fairway buoys deployed. After that, the emergency port of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People would be available again, according to a statement by the ministry.
"The port is used for sea rescue. Sailors are not allowed to use it as a stage port, but only in emergencies", Schlotmann emphasized in conclusion.
