Something different: the Haber 34 in Düsseldorf
It looks quite brawny, a bit like a diesel locomotive with the vertical build-up windows and the wipers on the glasses. In addition, the high freeboard, the huge stainless steel bowsprit and the raised aft chamber, which is reminiscent of a fort. Haber owners don't care about any of this. Inner values count for them: lots of living space, good all-round visibility in the harbor and space for up to six on the 11.50 meter long and 3.65 meter wide ship. Certainly also decisive for many: If it becomes shallow, the swords are drawn in and almost 70 centimeters of water depth is enough to move forward.

The ship with the really amazing feeling of space below deck still achieves the CE category high seas, internal ballast and the high structure with a lot of buoyancy make it possible. Not new at Haber, but further developed on the 34er: the C4 system. A large main sword, together with three other blades underwater, enables course keeping on all courses. The automatic system, which is being used for the first time on the Haber 34, can use selective, electric lifting and lowering of the swords to drive either a course close to the wind or according to a compass. A real innovation that this system should consume significantly less power compared to an autopilot.
The price is remarkable: 276,000 euros are called. For this you also get a 55-footer from the mass production. Happig, so one might think. The number is put into perspective by the elaborate construction. Each ship is created via Mallen according to the customer's individual specifications. A little wider or narrower? A little more length or standing height? No problem, the shipyard makes it possible. After all, there is no form in which the hull is laminated. It arises from malls with a core made of wood. During production, the bowl is rotated up to ten times. Effort of which the buyer hardly notices, except that the ship fits his requirements exactly. Semi-custom in the middle class. It remains to be seen whether the concept will be successful. It was actually always full at the exhibition on board the Haber. That wasn't a problem, after all there is space in abundance.
