Super light, stiff, fast - these are the right words for the Farr 25 OneDesign.
The trunk boat has been proving its potential in various regattas for a good two years. Made of high-quality E-Glass with epoxy under vacuum, with a rudder and keel made of carbon. In contrast to the similarly large Melges 24, the 1.8 meter deep keel cannot be caught up for trailer transport. To do this, a massive M-20 bolt must first be loosened, according to the shipyard there is no procedure for regular transport.
Similar to the Melges, however, the conditions are both in terms of weight distribution and sail areas:
With a weight of 930 kilograms, it is about 100 kilograms heavier, but with 37 square meters of cloth upwind and 87.5 space sheets, it trumps the established competitor, a balanced balance of power.
Nevertheless, the racer also wants to be attractive to Toruens sailors, the comparatively higher freeboard allows a little more living space and seating height below deck, but above all the clever outboard garage with shaft has been solved in an interesting way. But something else is cozy.
The price is interesting: the Farr costs a good 58,000 euros from the shipyard, including an elegant carbon mast, but still without the sail. For the same money you can buy two B / one, the new one-class racer from Bavaria. Similarly sailed, similarly heavy. And from Farr too.
But who needs two boats?
