Attractive appearance: wide, open cockpit at the rear, two wheels
Sporty, modern and - "entertaining". This is what the current generation of sailing yachts from Dufour's performance-oriented Performance program should look like. The Dufour 36 is now making the start. It was announced months ago, but only as a project with a phantom drawing. Now, shortly before the premiere at the Salon Nautique in Paris, Dufour is lifting the mask.
The Dufour 36 is intended to close the long vacant gap in the program between the 34 and 40, while at the same time introducing a completely new ship concept for Dufour. The cockpit is now even more tailored to the needs of sporty sailors and remains completely open aft. There are large storage spaces under the cockpit floor, e.g. for the life raft. As a special feature, the lockers in the cockpit are just put on and can be easily dismantled as closed boxes and left on the jetty for the regatta.

Sporty note: deep T-keel (2.20 meters) and pronounced Chinese
The shrouds attached directly to the fuselage are also new. Dufour is now following the general trend towards smaller, only briefly overlapping foresails in the performance program. For this, the mast has become higher in relation to the length of the ship. Another novelty are the conspicuously long, almost unbroken chimney edges (Chinese). They give the boat more volume, especially in the stern area, and ensure more stability on the go. The Dufour 36 is also equipped with an extendable bowsprit for the gennaker. For the construction, Dufour once again relies on the skills of his long-term design partner Umberto Felci.

The two-cabin version is standard. There are no alternatives
Inside, the layout of the Dufour 36 remains conservative and conforms to the class. The division provides for a spacious cabin in the fore and aft, plus a large storage space at the rear, a wet cell with shower option, pantry and a salon in a symmetrical layout with a central saloon table. There are no plans for expansion alternatives as a three-cabin version.
The Dufour 36 will celebrate its premiere at the trade fair in Paris (December 3-11). The shipyard has not yet announced a price.
