The first days of boot 2006 in Düsseldorf are over. From the point of view of the organizers, the world's largest water sports exhibition is on course in its 37th year.
At 9:30 a.m., a naval officer rang the bell last Saturday - the opening ceremony of boot could begin. Around 110,000 visitors streamed into the exhibition halls on the first three days alone to find out about a wide variety of water sports innovations.
The fundamentally revised infotainment concept with three so-called amusement parks instead of a central action hall, which the organizers of boot missed, is extremely well received by exhibitors and visitors. In addition to the good number of visitors, boot project manager Abdul-Rahman Adib is delighted with the broad media impact and the increase in international and supraregional shares.
Most of the exhibitors are also satisfied after the exhibition is halfway through. Shipyards and outfitters were already doing mostly good business or at least recorded lively visitor interest.
The activities at the YACHT stand (Hall 16, Stand B 22) are also extremely popular. There, knots and splices are not only demonstrated by experts, but everyone can also take part. Ropes and tools are available especially for this at the stand.
Boot is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sunday.
