Amelie Lux and Toni Wilhelm were only able to place in the last third of the first race, 470s with clearly rising form.

In the strong Meltemi with almost 30 knots, the German Mistral surfers could not pump themselves to the top in their first race. Toni Wilhelm was always around 25th place in the men’s race and finished 24th. The race was won by the 1996 Olympic champion and local hero Nikolas Kaklamanakis.

Amelie Lux finished her opening race in 18th, but in the meantime was even in ninth place.

The two German 470 teams improved. Stefanie Rothweiler and MonikLeu finished eighth in a demanding race with strong winds (sixth place after the first cross) and were able to improve one place in the overall ranking (14th). An impressive race was shown by the Greeks Bekatorou / Tsoulfa, who sailed up from eleventh to second. However, they could not make contact with the Dutch Westerhof / Matthijsse, they were up and away immediately after the start and at the finish 1:25 minutes ahead. The Greek women are now leading the overall standings by ten points.

With the 470 men, Lucas Zellmer and Felix Krabbe had a bit of bad luck in the end: they slipped from sixth place in between to tenth at the finish.

The world's elite have come to the fore in the laser. The race was won by Gustavo Lim (POR), ahead of Mark Mendelblatt (USA) and Robert Scheidt (BRA).

The first day race in the other disciplines (Europe, Yngling, Finn) is still ongoing. Results in brief.
