With a medium sea breeze from the southwest, the German team had a false start in the competition. The best result was achieved by Kristin Wagner and her crew in 9th place, but it seems to be Greek Day.

Two first places in four races - the start could not have gone better for the hosts. Aimillios Papathanasiou in the Finn and SofiBekatorou / AimiliTsoulfim 470s each won their opening races.

The German starters were far from that. After a cautious start, the Wagner crew only placed eighth at the first brand, improved in the meantime to sixth (16 boats), but fell back to ninth on the final downhill walk. The race was won by the Danish team led by helmsman Dorte O. Jensen.

In the 470s Stefanie Rothweiler and MonikLeu subscribed to 14th place from the start, and in the meantime even lost a position that they were able to catch up again. Her classmates, Lucas Zellmer and Felix Krabbe, fared even worse. After 13th place at the first mark, they only sailed backwards. The race was won by Foerster / Burnham (USA)

Michael Fellmann's curve in the Finn dinghy also points steeply downwards. After seventh place at the first brand, things only went downhill. Small consolation: Favorite Ben Ainslie also got off to a bad start with ninth place.

The results of the second race, which is currently ongoing, will follow shortly.
