The largest and oldest classic regattan in the Baltic Sea starts today. From the stately 22 meter long cruiser yacht to archipelago cruisers, Spitzgatter, seafaring cruisers, KR cruisers to wooden kites and folk boats, the beauties are reminiscent of the starting fields of the sea regattas of the Kiel Week from the twenties to the sixties - a huge regatta field with a unique variety of types.

On Friday there will be regattas in the Strander Bay, on Saturday the long distance will take place on the Stollergrund. The races on the Kiel Fjord bring the sporting highlights, but the land program in particular should be tempting for classic fans.

In addition to the harbor full of wooden boats and the unique opportunity to admire so many wooden beauties at once, there is a culinary market, jazz concerts, singer-songwriter sessions and an iconic closing party, to which the organizer "Freundeskreis Classic Yachten" cordially invites you. The classics made of wood need a lot of love and at least as much care. Thus, the "restoration prize", which is awarded annually, is one of the focal points of the event. The award winner will present the boat and work steps to all interested parties in words and pictures.
