Many dream of blue water sailing. Sail the world's oceans with your own boat once in a lifetime. Calling for the most beautiful islands, ports and bays in the Caribbean, the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. But give up the regular life at home forever?
This price seems too high for many. So it usually stays with the dream. But now an alternative is in sight. The British organizer of the annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, or ARC for short, in which many German crews also regularly take part, invites you on a trip around the world.
For a good year and a half, a guided flotilla should go to the most beautiful sailing destinations the world has to offer. First across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal to the South Seas, on to Australia, Indonesia and South Africa to Brazil, and finally back to the Caribbean and from there home to Europe.
When it starts, how expensive the fun is, how you can be there and what requirements ships and crews have to meet, all of this can be found in the new YACHT (issue 12/06, from Wednesday at the kiosk).
