It is the mother of all shipyard regattas. The Swan World Cup, which is sailed off Porto Cervo every two years, has started. For the 13th time. In the calendar of international regattas, it has long had the reputation of a semi-professional event that is professionally organized on the land side.

The 102 yachts sail in four categories. The big swans were divided into the class. The exhibits of the new, performance-oriented Swan 601s also sail here. Furthermore, the smaller Swan 45s start as a unit class. They are currently the fastest growing fleet in the world. This is one of the reasons why the Swan 45 was recently officially elected to a class in the 2005 Admiral’s Cup.
The "classic" yachts with a racing value of less than 1.185 sail according to IRC in categories C and D. The race committee designed three different courses for the different classes: The proportion of savvy professionals in the class is high, has become a common practice for them today Up-and-down course laid out, while the other fields partly sailed around fixed nautical marks in front of Porto Cervo. However, even professionals are not immune to wind shifters: The breeze first fell asleep completely during the course of the race and then began to fanned weakly again from a direction that was 90 degrees different.
In the big boats, "BugiBianca" won the first race, in the Swan 45s it was "Vertigo", and "Soleni2" won classes C and D.
