The highlight of the Havel Klassik 2006 organized by the Academic Sailing Association and Friends of Classic Yachts is the special class cup from 1912, which is sailed out in a match race between two special classes. One is 96 years old and comes from Chiemsee, the other is 103 years old.

All ships built up to 1972 or replicas of historic ships are cordially invited to sail and celebrate. In front of the backdrop of world-famous sights, it goes down the Havel past the Pfaueninsel to the Glienicker Bridge and back. On Saturday at 10.30 a.m., a large field of keel and sword boats will start the regatta. After around 3 hours, the winner crosses the finish line in front of the ASV clubhouse in Scharfen Lanke. Afterwards, the award ceremony and garden party with jazz will take place live on the grounds of the Academic Sailing Association, which was founded 118 years ago. There are prizes for the three fastest yachts in the keel boats, dinghies and dinghy cruisers groups, and the most beautiful and the most widely traveled yacht receives a prize. On Sunday at 10 o'clock the "Korso Klassischer Yachten" leaves for the Pfaueninsel; accompanied by a replica of the once imperial pleasure ship Royal Louise. The tow through the middle of Berlin, donated by the ASV every year, is a special experience. On Friday, the participants from the southeastern sailing areas will be towed free of charge by the historic tug Auror (1920) from Köpenick (2.30 p.m. Lange Brücke) to the Havel in around four hours. Then it goes back on Sundays
