The storm "Kyrill" reduced the number of visitors for the first weekend a little compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, the sailing center in particular was very well attended.
For visitors to boot 2007 in Düsseldorf, it is of course advisable to use public transport - except last weekend. While there were hardly any problems in local traffic, trains of the Deutsche Bahn were still running late on Saturday and Sunday, caused by the storm "Kyrill". The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia was particularly hard hit; and this is precisely where a good 70 percent of the trade fair visitors come from, as the spokeswoman for the Düsseldorf International Boat Show announced. Between Bochum and Essen, buses had to replace train traffic on a section of the route; Due to fallen trees and softened soil, there were problems on other routes as well. It is therefore not surprising that compared to 2006 (almost 90,000 visitors on the first weekend) fewer visitors came to the 17 exhibition halls on Saturday and Sunday.
In return, the general mood was excellent. The sailing center was very busy on both days. Johannes Erdmann's lectures at the YACHT stand were particularly popular. The main topic of conversation among exhibitors and visitors was the eagerly awaited award ceremony for the "Yacht of the Year" on Saturday. Another much discussed topic is of course the America’s Cup 2007. The "who’s who" of the scene is expected on Wednesday in Düsseldorf - as is the exceptional British sailor Ellen MacArthur
Boot will take place from January 20 to 28, 2007 in Düsseldorf. 1,644 exhibitors from 56 countries present everything to do with water sports on 220,000 square meters.
