The Magdeboot, the trade fair for new and used boats, accessories and water tourism offers in Magdeburg, will open for the 18th time on Friday. On around 10,000 square meters of exhibition space in three exhibition halls and on the covered open space, products and services related to fun on the water will be presented until Sunday, March 12th. Charter providers provide information about holidays with a sailing boat, houseboat or motor yacht in the region or in more distant areas. The State Sailing Association of Saxony-Anhalt also introduces itself.
"Traditionally, the Magdeboot presents the entire spectrum of water sports shortly before the start of the new open-air season. The offer ranges from motor and sailing boats as well as yachts to inflatable and rowing boats, canoes as well as diving and fun sports equipment," says AnjGertig, project manager at Messe Magdeburg. Visitors can also expect numerous offers for yacht charter, marinas and maritime trips.
"Tips and trends from the area of water tourism as well as an exciting lecture program round off the fair," said Gertig. There will be a used boat exchange on the covered open space between the exhibition halls. On all three days of the fair, visitors are also invited to take part in workshops on splicing cordage. The exhibition portfolio is complemented by exhibitors from the canoe, kayak, surf and diving sectors as well as a supporting program on the stage in Hall 3 and at the diving tank in Hall 2.
The numerous lectures include, among other things, Baltic sailing or life and training on board the tall ship and sailing training ship Schonerbrigg "Greif". Stephan Boden will give a lecture on the topic of single-handed sailing. The performances of shanty choirs provide the musical framework for the fair.
